Poulan Model PO17542LT We purchased this riding mower a couple of years ago. My husband has always used it to cut the lawn. He became disabled and I need to use the mower. Unfortunately, I am too petite to engage the clutch lever and am not strong enough to push it into position. It requires two strong hands and I have to move off the seat to engage it, which causes the mower to stall. We have an older Sears and Roebuck we have used for years to cut pasture grass, and I love it because it is so user friendly. It did not come with a grass catcher, so I can't use it on the lawn. This Poulan mower is not user friendly for me. Hopefully I can find a buyer for it, since it takes a strong arm and large weight lifter to run it. September 22, 2014
Will not run putting into gear. Seat switch is fine, runs fine, "its a GREAT ENGINE" but the electric safety ??? for children, OR TOO SAFE. When running and I put it into gear, let out on clutch it DIES! I know need a $50 switch to "repair the issue! July 23, 2014
drive belt and cutting belt problem I love this product it does the work but the pulley system always cut the drive belt (A94) for cutting grass. How do I service this fault Again the kick starter is also a problem. We have to start manually sometimes and it is unsafe practice where can we source parts in Nigeria May 9, 2014
Nice machine for smaller urban lots My Poulan came fully assembled and ready to roll. 10HP, 38" cut. Recovering from Chemo therapy my Poulan is a leg saver. Thanks guys July 11, 2013
Going back to Craftsman I bought the Poulan because it had a sharper turning radius than the Craftsman (now Craftsman offers a tight turning radius also) but am I ever sorry. The bolts that hold the blades to the carriers come loose almost every time I use it, even though I tighten them every time I use it. Today I retightened the bolts on the blades and after mowing about 50 feet one came off again. This has ruined the "star" drive things on the carrier and every time this happens I have to retap the threads onthe carrier. I evem replaced the bolts with new ones including shakeproof washers but still have the same trouble. If someone will buy this thing CHEAP I will get a Craftsman. July 5, 2013
Durable and Reliable Mower I bought my 17.5 Poulan Riding tractor in 2012 and has been the best mower . I use to sell this brand of mower years ago at Home depot and have a neighbor who has had his for ten years now and only has replaced battery and blades and one set of belts during this time. Excellent for the price and very reliable rider to depend on. Already assembled when I bought it May 14, 2013
Awesome mower Bought in 2007 and in 5 years only replaced blades and a battery. Still original belts. I would purchase it again! August 16, 2012
Quick and easy I've had this lawn tractor for about 2 months and can't express how well it has performed on my yard. I have a little less than an acre and this took about a 3 hour task and turned it into less than an hour. The only thing I would do is include a deck cleaning connection. I remedied this by purchasing one online. I plan on getting some additional attachments later. August 6, 2012
